Sense Your Heart Exercise
Module 7.3
1. Take a moment to use the Belly Breathing and Body Feelings exercise from Module 2 to get calm within your body and sense your heart. Putting your fingertips over your heart in the middle of your chest can help you focus.
2. Take a deep breath into your heart itself and feel it soften and open, like a rose, petal by petal. What sensations and feelings arise from your heart when you ask the question, "How and where do you need more love and connection in your life?" Observe the sensations and feelings without judgment.
3. After a few minutes, use your discernment to try to translate those feelings into more specific needs. Do you need more companionship in the evenings? More friends to do fun things with? More sex? Are you looking for a life partner? Putting intention into who you are looking for and letting your supportive friends and family know are important steps toward getting what you want. What are your interests and what groups, clubs, or volunteer activities might you pursue? (See the Social Network PDF below for some ideas)
4. Contrary to popular belief, love, friendship, and community don't usually just "happen spontaneously." They require reflection, openness, and investment of time. See what kind of love you can manifest for yourself.
